Marie C. Bichsel, age 87, of Eau Claire, died on Friday, May 24, 2024 at Dove Health Care - West in Eau Claire.

Marie was born June 2, 1936 to the late Clarence and Mildred (Moen) Olson in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Marie grew up in Eau Claire and graduated from Eau Claire High School. On October 1, 1955, she married Leo Bichsel. Marie was employed as a secretary/administrator at Hovland Heating and Cooling, Gould, Midelfort Clinic and Jackson Hewitt Tax Service.

Marie and Leo enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S. visiting family, friends and enjoying casinos on their travels. Her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends, often times playing 500. Collecting varieties of angels was also a favorite hobby.

Those that knew Marie found her to be a warm, caring, and thoughtful person. As a mom, mother-in-law and grammy, she was very loving and supportive.

Marie is survived by her son, Paul (Kay); grandsons, Steven, Andrew and Matthew; sister, Carol Raether; nephews, Jon (Catherine Decker) and Jason (Angela) Raether; other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo, and brother-in-law, Clifford Raether.

The family would like to thank Pastor Paul Weber for giving Communion and many visits to her home, at Mayo Hospital and Dove Healthcare.

Honoring a life with a meaningful service is an important step in the grief process and is a gift to their family and friends —
a gift of memories and a gift of healing
