Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Altoona, Wisconsin with Father Greg Bohren officiating

Visitation: 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass at church

A private interment will be at a later date

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to either St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Olaf Catholic Church where she often attended with daughter Beth, or the charity/organization of your choosing.

Margaret "Peggy" E. Ladenburger, age 89, formerly of Bettendorf, Iowa, went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Heatherwood Assisted Living in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

Peggy was born September 14, 1934 to the late Albert and Fern (Gasaway) Fisher in Morrison, Illinois where she was the youngest of 5 children. She enjoyed life on a peaceful family farm in a small town until moving to Beloit, Wisconsin to be a secretary. She met and soon married Ken Kutzke in 1957 and had 3 daughters, Beth, Gail and Patti. She enjoyed being a wife and mother and later a church secretary at O.L.A Catholic Church in Beloit. She was an avid reader and enjoyed the Catholic life. The family enjoyed camping and fishing on vacations.  A favorite weekend get-a-way was to visit the grandparents on the family farm. Peggy was a wonderful baker, as her mother was, and enjoyed doing this with her daughters. They gardened, canned and froze vegetables, halls of fish for fish fries, and butchered meat. After 23 years, the couple divorced in 1980. Peggy then moved to Bettendorf, Iowa, near her family, where she began working for the federal government at Rock Island Arsenal as a Logistics Specialist.  

In August of 1993 she married John F. Ladenburger. The couple enjoyed traveling and "meandering" around on road trips, especially visiting their now 6 combined adult children and grandchildren. They also had much fun driving around an RV in Germany and Austria on 3 separate occasions. Peggy will long be remembered for her infectious smile, the celebration style way she welcomed a visit and for the extraordinary way she listened to and cared about her family. She loved completely, and unconditionally and always saw the best in her family.   

She is survived by her daughters, Beth (Dave) Okas, Gail Freeman, and Patti (Nick) Horan; step daughters, Jacki (Henry) Florentius and Stephanie (Sam) Larson; step son, John A. (Indira) Ladenburger; grandchildren, Brian (Jenny) Okas, Andrea (Patrick) Cifaldi, Shannon (Ryan) Wnuk, Maggie (Mike) Davis, Zach and Matt Freeman, Lauren Kutzke, Cole Schmidt; Nichollette (Jamie) Hincapie, Holly (JP) Horan-Crawford, Luke (Charlotte) Horan, Jacob (Courtney) Horan, Andrew (Brooks) Horan, Nick Florentius, Adam (Kristen) Ladenburger, Luke (Jenny) Ladenburger, Maria, Alexis and Misha Ladenburger, and Julian and Jessie Larson; great grandchildren, Maddie, Grant, Gianna, Howie, Ella, Anthony, Matthew, Sam, Avery Grace, Jackson, Maui, Naya, Owen, Asher, Ella, Eugene, Salem and Tatum, Kyson and Laken; sister, Harriet Galetti; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, John; sister, Mary Clark; and brothers, George and Leo Fisher.
