Visitation: 10:00 a.m. until time of service

Interment: Rest Haven Cemetery, Town of Washington, Wisconsin

Erik J. Kleven, age 80, of Eau Claire, died on Sunday, June 16, 2024 at his home.

Erik was born November 26, 1943 to the late John and Lorayne (Hanson) Kleven in Black River Falls, Wisconsin. When Erik was still a young boy the family moved to Eau Claire and it is there he attended school, graduating from Memorial High School in 1962. He was Senior Class President, played basketball and excelled both in the classroom and on the baseball diamond as a pitcher. Even having received several offers from pro teams, he elected to attend the University of Minnesota on a baseball scholarship. He returned to Eau Claire and graduated from UW-EC. Throughout his life Erik enjoyed sports (baseball, softball and golf) and lifting weights. He was an avid sports fans and always cheering and talking about his beloved Packers.

He worked as an orderly at the Syverson Lutheran Home and helped with his mom as a caregiver. He was a loved brother, uncle, and friend who will be missed.

He is survived by his brothers, Rolf (Barbara) and Arne (Christine); nieces and nephews, Wendy (Will) House, John R. (Melissa), Joel (Diana), Daniel (Ellen), Anna (Kevin) Misner, Katie (Josh) Stanley, Micah (Katelyn), Maria Lorayne, Josiah (Marisa); several great nieces and nephews; two great, great nephews; many other family members and friends.
