Kathryn Falter Gunderson, 55, passed away June 10, 2024. Katie was born November 21, 1968 to John and Patricia Falter in Eau Claire, WI, where she lived for most of her life. She married Jeffrey Gunderson in 1985 and they were divorced in 2010. They had two children, Amber and Cory, and were a fixture in the Township of Seymour.

Katie was an entrepreneur for over 30 years. She started Northwood Ceramics in 1993 and built it from a ceramics shop into the fifth largest manufacturer of plateware in the US. She closed the ceramic shop in 2006. She then opened an insurance company, Gunderson & Associates, from 2007 - 2021 before moving onto her current business venture, The Narrows Campground and Resort in Chetek, WI. She took a lot of joy in building a welcoming and vibrant business for the Chetek and Potato Lake community to enjoy.

Many people considered Katie their best friend and confidant, due to her warm and witty nature. She loved to travel, spending most of her Januarys in Florida, and did a wide variety of crafts, including stained glass and jewelry making. She was devoted to her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Women's Auxiliary.

Katie is survived by her daughter, Amber Gunderson, son, Cory Gunderson, grandchildren, Calista and Max, her sisters, Sharon Falter and Suzanne Falter, brother, Brian Falter, and ex-husband, Jeffrey Gunderson.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia (2012), and father, John (2023).
