![]() Jeanette A. Gruen, age 90, of Eau Claire passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at Mayo Clinic Health System - Eau Claire. Jeanette was born in Eau Claire on October 5, 1921 to the late Adolph and Julia (Ray) Anderson. She graduated from Eau Claire Sr. High School in 1939 and attended office training classes at Eau Claire Vocational School. From 1939 to 1948, she was employed at several local insurance offices and with Western Electric during the War. On September 25, 1948, she married Orvin G. Gruen and was a homemaker until 1968 when she began working at the Eau Claire YMCA office. She retired in 1980. After suffering a stroke in November of 2010, she moved to Dove Health Care - West where she made many wonderful friends with the residents and staff. Jeanette loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed going to the casino, stopping at thrift sales, attending auctions, reading and meeting new people. Jeanette is survived by her children, Linda Gruen of Beloit, WI, Thomas (Netty) Gruen of Jakarta, Robert (Deb) Gruen of Green Bay, Carole Turner (Charlie Klemke) of Eau Claire, and Sharon (Brian) Meyer of Eau Claire; grandchildren, Jessica (John) Woods of Chicago, IL, Andrea and Tyler Gruen of Green Bay, Joseph and Evan Turner and Vincent Meyer of Eau Claire, Dewi (Hendri), Nadine, Angenette and Valjean in Jakarta, and Ysidra, Max and Rex in the Phillipines; great grandchildren, Sara, Nora, Joseph, and John Woods and Phoenix Susanto; sister-in-law, Carol Anderson of Eau Claire; many nieces, nephews, and other family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orvin, on January 6, 2004, and her brothers, Charles R. and Ralph A. Anderson. |
